Software Developer

  • Own features end to end on a 100+ module, multi-tenant PHP platform, from requirements and design through testing and release, delivering compliance, governance and analytics solutions for banking, facility management and construction clients.
  • Design and maintain REST APIs powering Flex's iOS and Android apps and customer-built integrations secured with OAuth 2.0, supporting customer systems of 100–1,000 users each.
  • Designed and built an in-house BDD test automation framework (Gherkin-style steps) enabling QA and developers to write front-end and back-end tests that run nightly and report to a central dashboard for regression testing and pre-release verification.
  • Refactored dozens of legacy modules, removing duplication, improving performance and adding automated test coverage; played a key role in upgrading the codebase to PHP 8.
  • Optimised MySQL queries across datasets of 500k+ records, and wrote data migration and conversion scripts that preserved customer data integrity during software updates.
  • Automated recurring system processes with cron jobs and modernised the UI with Bootstrap, reducing manual intervention and improving interface consistency.
  • Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers; collaborate with product, QA and mobile teams in Agile sprints.

  • Developed and extended internal ASP.NET (C#) applications backed by Microsoft SQL Server, streamlining task tracking and workload forecasting for the Quality Engineering team.
  • Designed and built a web dashboard with Highcharts and real-time charts that improved how the team prioritised and planned work, with usage expanded to other teams.
  • Diagnosed and fixed bugs across C#, JavaScript and CSS, and automated internal document processes with Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) utilities.

Twitter Sentiment Labelling Application

  • Built a full-stack web app (React, Redux, Node.js, Express, MongoDB) that fetches tweets via the Twitter API and collects human-labelled sentiment and emotion data for machine learning model training.
